Raven’s interest in massage was apparent as a child when she would massage away the stress from in her mother’s shoulders.
She honed her healing instincts with solid clinical training at the renowned Finger Lakes School of Massage, where she refined her passion for therapeutic bodywork.
Raven combines a wide variety of modalities to meet the individual needs and health goals of her clients. She integrates trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, KAM (kinesthetic awareness through movement) and NMT (neuromuscular therapy) to create an effective, personalized healing experience. She is also trained in Swedish, Shiatsu, Pregnancy, Sports and Ayurvedic massage.
Raven studied with Tibetan doctors learning the art of KuNye (therapeutic oil massage), fire cupping and treating clients based on their constitutions or Doshas. Her work has been described as intuitive, gentle yet strong, deeply therapeutic and rejuvenating.
As a child, Raven was a student of Waldorf Education. As an adult, she is an avid gardener. She believes that the health of the earth and the health of its people are inherently connected.
Newly relocated to West Philly, Raven balances her time practicing massage along with social and political activism, food justice work, craft projects, studying herbal medicine and doing yoga, circus arts and child care. She looks forward to building her new community and is thrilled to be a part of Six Fishes.
